Action Fund applauds American Airlines for inclusive ENDA stance
In a public letter to the U.S. Congress, American Airlines recently announced its public support of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) that includes sexual orientation and gender identity protections. The Task Force Action Fund commends American Airlines for its stance.

Task Force staffer addresses hate crimes at congressional briefing
Laurie Young, Ph.D., serving as acting director of the Task Force’s Public Policy & Government Affairs department, was part of a group of experts that spoke at a Sept. 22 congressional briefing on international and U.S. hate crimes targeting LGBT people. The briefing was hosted by Congress’ LGBT Equality Caucus.

Policy Institute announces new fellowsThe Task Force Policy Institute has announced the selection of its 2008–2009 LGBT Fellows: New York-based journalist/researcher Kenyon Farrow and Seattle-based activist/MBA candidate Mala Nagarajan. The fellows’ projects will serve to advance the Policy Institute’s primary goals of equipping grassroots leaders with essential tools in the struggle to gain LGBT political power and creating new movement conversations and perspectives that lead to innovative strategies and fresh possibilities for change.

It’s About Time: LGBT Aging in a Changing World
SAGE’s Fourth National Conference on LGBT Aging, sponsored by AARP, will be held October 12–14 at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge in Brooklyn, N.Y. The conference will offer resources and networking opportunities to effectively address what LGBT aging will look like in the 21st century.
