Eric von Kuersteiner attended Boston College, Carroll School of Management in Newton, Massachusetts and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in May 1985 and a Master of Science and Finance in May 1991. Throughout the 1990’s, Eric sold and developed real estate in Boston and New York while working as vice president for Sotheby’s International Real Estate and Corcoran Real Estate. In 2003, he purchased approximately 80% of the commercial district in Fire Island Pines, NY. As president and chief operating officer of Pines Commercial Properties LLC, Eric controls its subsidiaries and owns Blue Whale Restaurant, Bay Bar Cafe, Hotel Ciel, Bamboo Florist, Index Lifestyle Store, A Fresh Market and Pavilion Nightclub. In addition, through his company Pines Promotions LLC, he produces various other events in the Pines including Ascension Beach Party, which proceeds benefit the Task Force.
