NYC Summit: Putting the “B” in LGBT

NYC Summit: Putting the “B” in LGBT

By Task Force staff, May 29, 12:46 pm

What exactly are bi issues? How do bisexual people fit in to the LGBT movement?

This weekend the Task Force, along with the New York Times Company GLBT & Allies Affinity Group, is co-sponsoring a free bisexuality summit to help answer these questions and more.

From the “Putting the B in LGBT” description:

“By holding the summit, organizers hope to develop a consensus between LGBT rights organizations, journalists and political officials that inclusion of bisexual people in the discussion of LGBT issues is necessary.”

The Task Force’s Jaime Grant, director of the Policy Institute, is among the featured panelists.

The Task Force’s participation in and support of this summit is part of an ongoing commitment to bi inclusion. This OutSpoken blog has featured bi topics, the Task Force Policy Institute has released an important report on bisexual health and at this year’s National Conference on LGBT Equality: Creating Change, the Task Force honored bisexual activist Robyn Ochs with the Susan J. Hyde Activism Award for Longevity in the Movement.
