The Task Force’s Pink & Purple Weekend is the premier annual LGBT weekend in Washington, D.C. It celebrates the diversity of the LGBT community and honors the leaders who push equality forward.

The Pink & Purple Weekend celebrates and honors those working to advance lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) equality. It's an opportunity for opinion leaders, decision makers, community figures and others to come together to network and get inspired for the continuing work toward equality and social justice.
Local Washingtonians Ingrid Duran and Catherine Pino will be honored during Sunday's Recognition Awards for their work on LGBT, women's and Latino/a issues. Writer/director Dee Rees and the filmmakers of Pariah will be recognized for their work on the critically acclaimed movie portrayal of the sensitive issues surrounding the complex identity in families and people of color.
